BSTI Certification

​The Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) is the national standards body of Bangladesh, established to ensure the quality and safety of products and services within the country. Operating under the Ministry of Industries, BSTI plays a crucial role in regulating and certifying products to meet national and international standards.​


What Is BSTI?

BSTI is an autonomous government agency responsible for:​

  • Standardization: Developing and issuing national standards for products and services.
  • Certification: Granting Certification Marks (CM) to products that comply with Bangladesh Standards (BDS).
  • Testing: Providing laboratory testing services to ensure product quality.
  • Metrology: Ensuring accurate measurements and calibration of instruments.
  • Regulation: Monitoring and enforcing compliance with standards through inspections and surveillance.​

BSTI was established through an ordinance in July 1985 and operates under the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution Act, 2018 .​
