What is Tax Identification Number (TIN)

TIN stands for Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN).
In which e-TIN is the electronic tax code (e-TIN).
In Bangladesh, the only agency that provides a Tax Identification Number (TIN) is the National Board of Revenue (NBR).
To get a tax identification number, one can apply either manually or electronically through the National Board of Revenue (NBR).

Under the Income Tax Ordinance, 1984, under section 124A, without reasonable cause, if a person uses the tax identification number (TIN) of another person or uses a false tax identification number (TIN) at the time of return your tax, the Deputy Commissioner of Taxes (DCT) may impose a penalty of up to BDT 20,000.

Under section 124AA, if, without reasonable excuse, a person fails to verify the authenticity of the twelve-digit tax identification number (TIN), the Deputy Commissioner of Taxation (DCT) or any income tax authority otherwise authorized by the Commission for this purpose.
